A key component of a school's sports program is its volunteer coaches, and Char-Lan DHS recently acknowledged those individuals who donated their time through the 2016-17 season to guide the various Crusaders teams.

The year's volunteers included Jim Fourney (basketball), Rory Blackadder (pole vaulting), Graham Midgley (soccer), David Rawnsley (soccer), Mike McDonell (hockey), Bill Roundpoint (lacrosse), Ryan Dewar (lacrosse), and Kathy Millar (archery).

The girls team from Char-Lan DHS is skating in Arnprior at EOSSAA and at last report had qualified to play in the final, with round-robin results of a tie and win.

Tonight in Cornwall is the annual Bishop's Cup Catholic charity game between the Holy Trinity Falcons and the St. Joseph's Panthers.

We will have stories in next week's edition of The Glengarry News.
