Sebastian Dirven of Bainsville, a student at Char-Lan DHS and member of the Cornwall Colts of the CCHL, is currently in Alberta, skating with Team Canada East at the World Junior A Challenge hockey tournament.

Dirven is one of two members of the Colts named to Team Canada East, the other being Nick Lalonde.

Lalonde and Dirven are two of 11 Central Canadian Junior Hockey League players chosen for Team Canada East’s 22 player roster.

“I’m really looking forward to this opportunity to play against some tough competition,” says Lalonde who has 16 goals, 28 assists and 44 points so far this season.

“It’ll fun to compete against players from other countries,” adds Dirven, who has looked impressive on the Colts blue line.  He has 4 goals, 11 assists for 15 points this season.

This year’s WJAC runs December 11-17, and we will post regular updates to our website. As well, look for a story about Dirven in an upcoming edition of The Glengarry News

Lalonde and Dirven will miss the Colts next three regular-season games while they wear the Canadian colours.
