Another day, another snow day for area students.
If you managed to dig out from yesterday's snow, you can look forward to freezing rain today, when,
of course, school bus transportation has been cancelled for the fourth consecutive day.
Driving is an adventure again as snow has given way to black ice and slush.
And some parking lots are like rinks.
But we can anticipate a return to lower temperatures later today.

Bundle up, again, as the deep freeze continues into the new year. A reminder that The News office will be open as usual at 8:30 a.m. January 2 as we begin our 126th year of serving the community, and providing weather updates.
An extreme cold warning remains in effect, issued by Environment Canada due to cold temperatures and wind. Today's windchill values are in the minus 30s.
These conditions are expected to persist through late in the date Tuesday, when forecast snow and moderating cold temperatures are expected.
