sean Jan 9, 2019 - 5:16pm

The Battle of Glengarry will be renewed Friday night in Alexandria, where the Glens will host their southern rivals, the Char-Lan Rebels. Game time at the Glengarry Sports Palace is set for 8 p.m.

When last they met, Char-Lan edged Alexandria 2-1 in overtime. Earlier in the CCHL2 hockey season, the teams split two games.

The Rebels enter the Jan. 11 contest winless in 2019 and coming off a 2-0 loss to the league-leading Ottawa Canadians. The Glens, after starting the new year 0-2, picked up a shut-out victory last Sunday, 3-0 on the road against Perth, the first-place squad from the opposite division.

Friday night's action will be the lone game this week for the Alexandria boys, while Char-Lan is scheduled to play on home ice in Williamstown, Saturday evening, at 8 p.m., when the Winchester Hawks will provide the opposition.
