Hosting a pair of soccer matches on Monday, Tagwi's junior girls team played to split results.
The Warriors dropped their opener 2-0 to Holy Trinity, before rebounding with a 1-0 victory over St. Joseph's. Morgan McRae had the Tagwi tally.

The abbreviated high school soccer season continued last Friday, despite the intermittent rainy conditions and puddle-laden fields. Among the action, Holy Trinity's junior girls took on Tagwi, playing to a 2-2 draw. The first photo below shows action from that match.
In the second image, Holy Trinity's junior boys are all smiles.

After kicking off their SD&G 2019 season on Monday with a 1-0 win over Seaway, the Warriors had a tough time Wednesday on their home pitch, dropping a pair of matches.
First up, the boys lost to St. Joseph's, blanked 4-0. Later, they succumbed to l'Heritage 6-2.
Today, the Warriors are slated to play in Cornwall, versus la Citadelle and Char-Lan.
Tuesday evening saw Tagwi Secondary School host high school all-star basketball players from across SD&G. The evening included a girls game, a boys game, and skills competitions. We will have photos and a story in The Glengarry News next week.

Tagwi Secondary Schools junior Warriors girls volleyball team completed the SDGAA regular season atop the standings, earning the right the host the 'A' playoff tournament, which is scheduled for Monday, February 11.
The qualifiers and their seeds are as follows: 1st Tagwi, 2nd la Citadelle, 3rd North Dundas, 4th Heritage, 5th Glengarry, 6th Char-Lan
The day's schedule will begin with North Dundas playing Char-Lan at 10:30 a.m, followed by a match between Heritage and Glengarry, starting approximately 11:30 a.m. The host Warriors will first see action at 12:45 p.m., playing the lowest remaining seed in the first semifinal match. La Citadelle gets the other semi, at 1:45 p.m, versus the remaining quarter-finalist.
The championship match is booked for a 3 p.m. start.
All matches are best two of three sets.
The senior 'A' playoffs are scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 14, at Heritage. See the next edition of The Glengarry News for details.
'AA' playoffs will be contested on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at either CCVS or St. Joseph's. (Location to be confirmed)

Tuesday's SDGAA high school girls hockey league tournament in Williamstown saw the Tagwi Warriors score a pair of victories, as the ladies beat Holy Trinity 3-1 and St. Joseph's 3-2. The wins moved the Warriors into a second-place tie with North Dundas and the Panthers.
In other results at the Jan. 8 competition, the Falcons blasted la Citadelle 6-2 to remain atop the standings. Their loss to the Warriors is the lone blemish on the season, which has HT with a 5-1 record.
Char-Lan was humbled 10-4 by la Citadelle and lost a close 3-2 contest with North Dundas. St. Joseph's blanked the Devils 3-0.

On Monday at Tagwi SS, the Warriors senior boys basketball team scored a decisive victory over Char-Lan, 57-27, led by 12 points from Rylan Iwachniuk. The Crusaders' offence was dominated by Andrew Dixon, who had 17 points, including a quintet of treys.
Looking ahead, Tagwi is scheduled to play Dec. 17 at Cornwall CVS, while Char-Lan is slated to next see action on Dec. 18 at North Dundas.
