Bad road conditions
Adverse weather across the United Counties has caused several highway accidents yesterday and today. SD&G OPP officers responded to a total of 35 (Stormont-11, Dundas-9, Glengarry-15) mishaps.

One of them was a single vehicle collision involving a commuter on County Road 31 (north of County Road 43) in the Winchester area at 6:30 a.m. today (February 8). Two adult passengers suffered minor injuries.Accidents

Glengarry Soccer League dome games postponed for Feb. 7

The Glengarry Soccer League has shuttered plans for matches tonight at the dome in Alexandria, due to poor weather. Games will be rescheduled.

Here's the official announcement:

Please be advised that all Indoor Soccer scheduled for this evening, is cancelled due to the Freezing Rain Warning. All games will be rescheduled.

Forecast bad weather for tonight scrubs junior B Char-Lan Rebels game

Tonight's scheduled CCHL2 game in Williamstown has been postponed.  It's actually the second time this game has been scrubbed due to bad weather, as Char-Lan and Metcalfe were originally scheduled to meet last month. 

As soon as a new date is confirmed, we will let you know.

Tonight's junior B hockey game in Williamstown postponed

The Char-Lan Rebels have announced that tonight's scheduled junior 'B' hockey game in Williamstown, versus the Metcalfe Jets, has been postponed due to poor travel conditions. A new date for the contest will be announced soon.

Note, there are no home games for the Rebs this weekend.

Heat warning issued for our region

Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the next few days, stating, "Humidex values reaching near 40 are expected."

The announcement goes on to say, "Heat and humidity will arrive Tuesday over the regions with high temperatures reaching near 32 degrees until Thursday. Night time lows will also be warm in the 19 to 21 degree range Tuesday and Wednesday nights. There may be temporary relief from the heat due to showers or thunderstorms. Cooler weather will arrive by Friday."
