17-year-old charged for threat at VCI

A 17-year-old male has been charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm after the Hawkesbury Ontario Provincial Police detachment's investigation of threats being made at Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute.

After receiving information shortly after midnight January 25, police ordered a lockdown at the high school.
The school remained closed for approximately one hour this morning while the Hawkesbury OPP, assisted by the East Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the OPP Canine Unit, conducted a search of the premises.

The accused has been detained pending a bail hearing today in L'Orignal court.

2 charged in break-in

Shawn Leblanc, 31, of The Nation, and Roxanne Boucher, 25, of Gatineau,
were charged with break and enter and possession of a controlled substance
after police responded to a suspicious vehicle December 30 at 8:38 a.m. on MacDonald’s Groves Road, North Stormont Township.
The vehicle was intercepted; police concluded the two suspects were involved in a break-in at a residence nearby. A quantity of marijuana was also seized.

Weapon, drug charges

Two South Glengarry residents have been charged with weapons and drug charges after police raided a Green Valley residence, confiscating a pepper spray canister, and a quantity of methamphetamines, cocaine, MDMA, LSD and marijuana.

Simon Labre, 30, and Hope Vanderhaeghe, 23, face five counts of possession of a drug for the purpose of trafficking, as well as charges of unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of a controlled substance and of property obtained by crime.
