The Eastern Ontario Health Unit has lifted a precautionary "Do Not Use Water" advisory it issued on July 7 for residents of the Township of South Glengarry whose private water systems draw water from the St. Lawrence River between Glen Walter and South Lancaster.
The warning was issued after two tugboats capsized in the St. Lawrence River, raising fears of possible water contamination.
It's official the Eastern Ontario Health unit has lifted the Alexandria boil water alert...your water is safe for consumption.

While "Frozen" is the title of a popular movie, it could well be the theme of this winter, which has seen a high number of frozen water pipes in the area. North Glengarry works crews have been busy thawing mains in Alexandria. This has been one of the worst winters in recent memory when it comes to frozen pipes.
