After The Glengarry News went to press this afternoon, the EOSSAA 'A' senior girls soccer final pitted two Alexandria-based schools against each other, with Le Relais shutting out Glengarry DHS to claim the championship and earn a trip to OFSAA.

Last Wednesday it was the SD&G boys 'A' soccer playoffs in Alexandria, and this Wednesday it will be EOSSAA. Be sure to check out The Glengarry News for all the details, including the schedule of games.

GDHS and UCDSB will be live broadcasting from the Gaels' soccer field on Wednesday, May 24, showcasing games played there as part of the boys 'A' EOSSAA tournament. Matches will also take place through the day on the field at the Glengarry Sports Palace, but a live web feed won't be available.

EOSSAA girls 'A' soccer is taking place today in Alexandria. In senior action earlier this morning, Le Relais spanked Char-Lan 5-1, after leading 4-0 at the half), while Glengarry DHS blanked Carleton Place 5-0, after holding a 2-0 edge at the half.

The senior boys soccer team from Char-Lan DHS is the 2017 SDGAA playoff champion, having yesterday beaten rival GDHS.
The Glengarry News was there covering the May 17 action and will have all the details in our next edition. A photo gallery will be posted on our website in the coming days.
Regardless of the result, both the Gaels and Crusaders will advance to EOSSAA, which is set for May 24, also in Alexandria.
Char-Lan head coach Sean O'Farrell wasn't taking chances in transporting the trophy from Alexandria to Williamstown after the game, as shown in this photo.
Both the senior and junior boys soccer teams from GDHS will be playing in the SD&G playoff championships this afternoon, after winning their semifinals earlier today.
Char-Lan's seniors also prevailed in their semi, so the senior final at 2:30pm will have the Gaels taking on the Crusaders.
As of this posting, the junior opponent for Glengarry had yet to be determined, as the second junior semifinal is currently underway. The junior championship match is set for a 4pm start.

Coach Robin Waller reports that the majority of the team achieved EOSSAA-qualifying results at the SD&G event. EOSSAA is set for May 18-19, in Brockville.
