The Nationals, Cornwall's professional hockey team, are back in action this weekend with back-to-back games on Saturday and Sunday, and the hockey team is looking to spread the holiday cheer.
The franchise is inviting all children under 12 years of age to attend the game for free, when accompanied by a paying adult (one adult per child).
Santa will be making a stop at the game after he is done his route for Cornwall's Christmas parade. He's also expected to be dropping the puck for the match's ceremonial faceoff. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m.
Saturday’s game against the Watertown Wolves is also Minor Hockey Night, in support of CHEO. Minor hockey players are encouraged to wear their team jerseys to be recognized and have a chance to win tons of giveaways and prizes.
The two teams are right back at it the following night at the Civic Complex. Sunday’s contest is Chuck Charlebois Night, as the team honours the longtime community booster. The game begins at 5:30 p.m. and is being held in support of Diabetes Canada.
