The Cornwall tyke 1 Wildcats earned a 48-6 victory over the Bell Warriors, on a chilly Sunday morning at Joe St Denis Field. As occasional snow flurries fell during the Oct. 21 gridiron grudge match, the Wildcats dominated on both sides of the ball.

Glengarrian Connor Hamelin had 9 rushes for 187 yards, scoring 4 touchdowns. On defence, he had 5 solo tackles and 7 assisted tackles. Elliot Keenan recorded 6 rushes for 40 yards, 3 solo tackles, and 7 assisted tackles, while Andrew Wiltshire had one tackle.

The other Cornwall scoring came from Caleb Denney (1 TD) and Bryce Camplin (3 two-point convert kicks).

With the win, the tyke 1 team advances to the NCAFA 'A' semifinal round, scheduled to play against Cornwall's other squad, tyke 2 (which won on the road last weekend in quarter-final action, 48-20 over Kanata), on Sunday, Oct. 28, starting at 10 a.m.

In other results last weekend, the mosquito Wildcats got past the Orleans Bengals 26-6. As a result, Cornwall moves on to play the Nepean Eagles on the road, Saturday, Oct. 27.

The peewee Wildcats were the lone squad to lose last weekend, dropping a 32-27 contest to Kanata. Cornwall's peewees will move into the 'B' playoff round, hosting the West Carleton Wolverines at noon, on Sunday.
