Wondering what that low-flying plane was doing in the skies Sunday?
It was a Hercules C130J, the big four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft the Canadian Forces used in Afghanistan. It performed four flyovers on Sunday afternoon during the unveiling of the LAV III monument next to the Lancaster Legion honouring Canadian Armed Forces who served during the Afghanistan conflict.
More details about the new MacEwen gas station and convenience store in Lancaster have been unveiled.
As The News previously reported, the existing structures located on the northeast side of the 401 overpass on Military Road will be demolished.
A new 3,035 square-foot facility will be erected, complete with six pumps and 16 parking spaces. The company’s investment is estimated at $1.7 million.
