Members of Alexandria's junior 'B' Glens hockey team participated in the Dec. 2 Christmas parade, in Alexandria.
Thursday night in the CCHL2 saw the Alexandria Glens and Ottawa West Golden Knights combine for 162 minutes in penalties, as the Knights dealt the Glens a 6-1 loss.
The bulk of the sin bin time was collected at the 8:58 mark of the third period, when two players from each team were handed game misconduct penalties in addition to fighting majors and other infractions. In all, four players from the Glens were involved in the brouhaha and three from the Knights.
The penalties racked up by the Alexandria squad add to their already league-leading total.
The boys continue on the road tonight, scheduled to skate in Embrun, at 8 p.m.
Tomorrow, Dec. 1, the Glens will host a Berlin (Germany) junior hockey team. Game time at the Glengarry Sports Palace is set for 8 p.m.
As part of the tour of a U20 hockey team from Berlin, Germany, a group of CCHL (junior 'A') all-stars will host a game On Tuesday, Dec. 4, in Hawkesbury. The action is set to start at 7:30 p.m., at the Robert Hartley Complex.
The CCHL roster of 2001- and 2002-born players includes Alexandria's Jeremy Quesnel, a forward who played for the Cornwall Colts.

Alexandria Glens vs Germans on Saturday
As we reported in this week's edition of The Glengarry News, the Berlin junior team will play against the Alexandria Glens of the CCHL2 on Saturday, Dec. 1. Game time at the Sports Palace is booked for 8 p.m.

Decades ago, there was a dirt race track oval, the Alexandria Speedway, located just north of town, on the east side of Highway 34. The remnants of the facility can still be spotted on satellite imagery, even though the track long since closed.

In Tuesday night CCHL2 hockey action on the road in Ottawa, the Alexandria Glens faced an onslaught of 56 shots, as the Jr. Canadians pounded the Glens 10-1.
Alexandria's lone goal was notched by Nathan Sauve, set up by Adam Porter.

This weekend, the boys are scheduled to be back on home ice Friday night and skate into Williamstown for a Saturday evening tilt.

Glengarry District High School is sending two teams to compete at EOSSAA tournaments this week, as the senior boys volleyball squad and senior girls basketball team won the respective SD&G championships.
